A practical inspection sequence
Drawing review
Critical dimensions, datum structure, surface and material requirements are identified.
Method selection
CMM, vision, projector, hardness, roughness or comparative measurement is selected by feature.
Controlled measurement
Checks are completed with the applicable fixtures, programs and calibrated equipment.
Result review
Measured results are compared with the approved drawing and documented to the agreed reporting scope.
Inspection scope: Final sampling level, report format, gauge method, environmental control and traceability requirements should be agreed during project review.
